10 Questions with Hanzo Steinbach
1.... who are your favorite artists?
Gustave Doré ,Jean Giraud(Moebius),Naoki Urasawa ,Akihiko Yoshida,Yoshitaka Amano and Go Nagai.
2.... do you offer workshops for artists?
I have yet to offer workshops.
3.... what helps boost your creativity?
I'm mostly creative when listening to music,playing videogames,or just watching or reading a very inspiring story.
4.... what medium and tools do you use to create art?
I went from very basic and traditional art(paper and pen) to now mostly using a Wacom Intuos 3 and Photoshop.
5.... what helps you maintain focus and motivation when creating?
Pretty much what i wrote down for # 3 : )
6.... do you feel its important to follow your passion in your career?
I feel it's incredibly important to feel passionate about whatever career you decide to follow.Passion should be the fuel that keeps you going.
7.... what is the secret to creating a great piece of art?
Personally,it's not so much the skills behind the art,but the amount of emotions it is able to extract out of you.If a particular piece is able to make you smile,make you sad,scared or invoke a sense of sweet nostalgia,then i consider it a great piece of art.
8.... where can people see your work (online, conventions or exhibits)?
So far mostly on Deviantart.com
9.... was there a certain moment that you knew you wanted to be an artist?
I drew ever since i can remember,but i had my "Ah-ha!" moment when i first i saw the anime Project A-ko.
10.... if you could give other artists one piece of advice what would it be?
Passion and Dedication comes first.Push yourself every time you hit a wall and don't be afraid to challenge yourself,it will only make you better.
