1.... who is your favorite artist?
For me, Frazetta (link) is obviously at the top, but there are tons more: Eyvind Earle (link), Roger Dean (link), Robert Bateman (link), Bob Kuhn (link), John Singer Sargent (link), Alphonse Mucha (link), Jean-Leon Gerome (link), Rein Poortvvliet (link), and the list goes on and on.
2.... do you offer workshops for artists?
I just completed a workshop for ImageFX Magazine that should be hitting the stands in a couple months, but usually, no.
3.... what do you like to listen to while you work?
Usually mellow stuff like Brian Eno, Dead Can Dance, Boards of Canada, David Sylvian.
4.... what medium and tools do you use to create your art?
Acrylic and oils for traditional, Photoshop for digital.
5.... during an average week how many hours a day / week do you work on creating art?
Not enough.
6.... are you working your dream job?
Parts of it are, but parts are nightmares, too!
7.... do you feel its important for others to pursue their dream jobs?
If it is important to them, yes of course.
8.... where can people see your work (online, conventions or exhibits)?
In my art book (available at www.darenbader.com), www.darenbader.blogspot.com, San Diego Comicon, IlluXcon, various volumes of Spectrum.
9.... was there a certain moment that you knew you wanted to be an artist?
There was never a time I can remember when I did NOT want to be an artist.
10.... is there anything else you would like to add or say to other artists?
Hmm... Not really. That calls for a beer and some time to chat!
